Season Wrap Up Notes!
Hi, guys! Just a quick note heading into our off season...we
have a few awards and ribbons to be picked up. If you were not
able to get yours at the banquet (or have a friend pick up for you), we will have a pickup day in August once everyone has had a chance to get home from vacations and settle into the school year. Please let me know if you were there and are missing anything! I do have another batch of record breaker bag tags to make after more records were broken at the Patti Wilder county meet last weekend! Also, if you'd like to recycle your ribbons, you can donate them for the 2027 season! Drop me a note to donate ribbons that haven't been picked up, or drop them off if you already have some you'd like to donate! Watch for details on awards pickup day/time as we get closer.
All of our young swimmers made amazing
progress this year! We were so excited to see how far they've come this
season! Our youngest swimmers are prone to losing the most over the
winter, so we wanted to remind you about the requirements for next year as many of our swimmers will age up:
- 5-6 years old - swim half the length of the pool
- 7-8 years old - swim freestyle and backstroke for a full length of the pool unaided
- 9-10 years old - swim at least three of the strokes for a full length of the pool unaided
- 11 & up - swim all of the strokes down and back (50 yards)
If you’d like to get lessons over the off-season, most of our coaches offer private lessons - visit our Coaches page on the website for contact info. West Cobb and Central Aquatic Centers are also great places to start! Atlanta Swim Academy is also good with teaching technique for little guys. If your swimmer is in middle school, be on the lookout for the KMHS middle school team starting in January coached by our very own Coach Reason and Coach Sandy! We'll forward information about registration as soon as we get details.
For our youngest swimmers, be thinking about who you might be able to invite to join us next year. Our 7/8 group was especially small this year, and we'd definitely like to add to those numbers. Almost all of our 5/6 year olds will be aging up, so we may be quite slim in that age group as well.
As always, it's an honor to be part of this amazing family known as the Saddlebrook Seahorses!
