Meet Season Is Upon Us!
It's time to sign up for meets! We've got just one more week of practice before our first meet - be sure to go to our Meets and Team Events page under the calendar tab to let us know which meets your swimmer is available for and what you'd like to volunteer for.
We ask that every family volunteers for at least four slots - but many will be working full time at every meet, so don't hesitate to sign up for extras! We do have a few slots for help during the day for those of you looking to avoid crowds. While we try to honor everyone's requests, we do occasionally have to make some changes to make sure we meet the minimum we need to pull off a meet - so be sure to sign up early!
So the big question...now that the governor's EO's have changed, what does that do for meets? We've finally heard back from the entire division, and as of now, masks will be optional at all of our meets for swimmers, volunteers, and spectators. The host team will be allowed to enact their own level of restrictions (or not) while also being sensitive to the away team. It looks like some will be restricting the number of people on the pool deck, but most will be putting at least the younger swimmers' bullpens on deck. We'll get specifics to you as we get close to each meet since each host has different requests and things may change the further in we get.
Coming up:
- No practice this Wednesday, last day of school!
- Thursday we switch to the morning schedule.
- We will be giving out spirit wear and suits starting this Thursday - please stop by on the upper deck to pick yours up! Every swimmer is getting at least a t-shirt, so we expect to see everyone! Swim caps are coming - the company is working feverishly to get them to us by the first meet.
- We DO have practice on Memorial Day!
- Because of Memorial Day, our meet day is Tuesday and off day (and first rookies day) is Wednesday that week.
If you haven't subscribed to the calendar for your age group(s) yet, it's a great way to keep track of what's going on!
Go Seahorses!
